How do I submit?

Submission Details:

Mystic Mind Magazine is currently looking for sci-fi and fantasy themed short stories, artwork, photography, 2-page comics, and serialized role-playing adventure stories centered in the genre of modern pulp. If you are interested in seeing what we publish in our magazine as reference to what we are looking for, we advice you to explore our magazine in further detail found digitally on our Patreon. We are currently only paying for short story submissions at this particular time. It is important to note that none of the staff or creators of Mystic Mind Magazine are paid in any shape or form. We are providing a modern pulp magazine and raising funds to continue to support this passion project. 100% of our funds go toward working and making this monthly magazine possible. We are a non-profit magazine.

Short Stories

• Short stories must be 5,000 words or less.

• Short stories must not contain NSFW content. (Keep it PG-13)

• We are looking for pulp-like stories. Fun, exciting, and adventurous stories along with strong and engaging characters are a must for our modern-pulp magazine.

• Submit story as a doc file.

• Stories must be 12pt font typed in Times New Roman and double spaced.

• Attach a cover letter to your submission through another doc file. In the cover letter, explain why you feel that your story is a good fit for Mystic Mind (Having a lack of publication credit will not hinder whether or not you're accepted for publication).

• If story is accepted, payout is $5.00 regardless of word count (If story is accepted, we do not maintain exclusive rights to your writing. Following publishing with Mystic Mind, you are free to submit your writing to other publishers if you so desire).

Artwork

• Artwork will be printed/published in Digest 5.5" x 8.5" (Keep this is mind as you are submitting your artwork. Artwork may even be published smaller as a panel section of a page).

• Please do not submit NSFW content. (Keep it PG-13)

• Artwork submitted is fictional artwork. While Mystic Mind Magazine focuses on science fiction and fantasy, other fictional works can be sent in for consideration. 

• Attach a cover letter to your submission through another doc file. In your cover letter, please state why you feel your artwork should be published in Mystic Mind. (Having a lack of Publication Credit will not hinder whether or not you're accepted for publication.

• Please note that if artwork is accepted and published in Mystic Mind we do not maintain ownership of your artwork.

Photography

• Photography will printed/published Digest 5.5" x 8.5' (Keep this is mind as you are submitting your artwork. Artwork may even be published smaller as a panel section of a page).

• Please do not submit NSFW content. (Keep it PG-13)

• Photography submitted needs to be themed towards science fiction and fantasy or another fictional genre. 

• Attach a cover letter to your submission through another doc file. Please state in your cover letter why you feel your photography belongs in Mystic Mind. (Having a lack of Publication Credit will not hinder whether or not you're accepted for publication.

• Please note that if photography is accepted and published in Mystic Mind we do not maintain ownership of your submitted photography.

2-Page Comics

• Comics must be 2 pages only.

• Please do not submit superhero themed comics. (As they are connected to fiction, that is not our focus of this magazine).

• Attach a cover letter to your submission through another doc file. Please explain in your cover letter why you feel your comic feature should belong in a publication of Mystic Mind. (Having a lack of publication credit will not hinder whether or not you're accepted for publication).

• Comics must have a science fiction or fantasy background in order to be accepted for publication

• Comics will be printed/published in Digest 5.5" x 8.5" (Keep this in mind when submitting your comic pages).

• Please note that if your comic feature is accepted and published in Mystic Mind we do not maintain ownership of your comic.

Role Playing Adventures

• Adventure must be single player only. 

• Adventures must be fiction based. 

• Dice systems preferred.

• Attach a cover letter to your submission through another doc file. Please state why you feel that your RPG belongs in Mystic Mind. (Having a lack of publication credit will not hinder whether or not you're accepted for publication).

• Please note that if your RPG is accepted and published in Mystic Mind we do not maintain ownership of your of your RPG.
